Speaker Biographies
Andrew Baron is Regional Director of the Americas for Euler Hermes ACI. He has been with Euler Hermes since 2003, serving as the Director of Marketing for Euler Hermes ACI, and most recently, expanding his role into the EH World Agency, responsible for the development of large, multi-national business in North, Central and South America. Prior to joining Euler Hermes, Mr. Baron owned a global promotional products marketing company, specializing in developing custom and proprietary drink containers for the hospitality industry, including theme parks, beverage companies and restaurant chains. Mr. Baron received a B.S. in Finance with a minor in Economics from the University of Florida. | |
![]() | Kick Baesjou is Vice President in the Commercial Department of Coface North America in East Windsor, New Jersey. He joined Coface North America in 2007 and manages the Key and Global Accounts Department of Coface North America. In that role he is also responsible for business development with trade credit insurance brokers in the USA and Canada. Prior to working in the United States, Kick was a commercial manager at Coface Netherlands in Amsterdam. He began his career with the Dutch credit insurer NCM (currently known as Atradius) and also worked in several positions at a Dutch Insurance Network organization. |

![]() | Chris Conn is responsible for the management of SWIFT's Trade and Supply Chain Management business in North and Latin America. Mr. Conn joined SWIFT in August 2006 with a primary focus on the Trade Services Utility. His role has expanded to include management of Trade in the Corporate Access segment to help corporates automate their international treasury operations, lower costs and improve bank communication. Before joining SWIFT, he was with The Bank of New York in New York, where he was responsible for the technology strategy of their trade and supply chain services offerings. He has more than 28 years background in banking with different responsibilities in various areas of payment operations, cash management sales, credit and trade product management. Mr. Conn is a member of the International Financial Services Association and an active participant in its Trade Services Product Management Committee. He is a regular speaker at various industry conferences, including IFSA and BAFT. He has been featured in trade publications and his commentary on supply chain developments and trends is often referenced by industry analysts. SWIFT is a member-owned cooperative that provides the communications platform, products and services to connect over 8,500 banking organizations, securities institutions and corporate customers in more than 200 countries. SWIFT enables its users to exchange automated, standardized financial information securely and reliably, thereby lowering costs, reducing operational risk and eliminating operational inefficiencies. ![]() | Mary Duhig is Director for Aon Trade Credit. In her current position, Mary is responsible for marketing and structuring credit risk mitigation solutions for domestic and global corporation. Prior to joining Aon in 1999, Mary was Manager, Latin American Operations for Case Corporation. While at Case, Mary managed a team of finance professionals who were responsible for structuring cross border and in-country financing facilities to support equipment sales. Based in Chicago, Mary has extensive international and domestic financial experience with both capital equipment companies and banks. Mary has traveled extensively to the Middle East, Africa, Europe and Latin America to structure financing facilities.Ms. Duhig currently serves on the Board of directors for FCIB. Mary earned her BA from Bradley University and her MBA from Loyola University. |
Scott Ettien has been employed for 25 years with Atradius. Currently he is the Director of Global Accounts for North America with a focus on the larger multinational accounts. Through the years, Scott has held positions in accounting, underwriting, and sales. He is a graduate of the University of Baltimore with a degree in Accounting. | |
Angela Hodges, MIM and CICP is the Latin America Credit Supervisor for Eastman Chemical Company, a Fortune 500 company, which manufactures and markets chemicals, fibers and plastics worldwide. She has responsibility for Eastman's regional credit employees based in Mexico and Brazil, as well as the overall management the accounts receivable portfolio in Latin America, which represents sales to @ 400 active customers in 25 countries. Prior to joining Eastman Chemical, Angela spent almost 14 years with Alcoa Inter-America, Inc. (a wholly owned subsidiary of Alcoa Inc.) where she managed their entire export region portfolio, including Latin America, Caribbean, Europe and Asia. Since graduating from Thunderbird, The American Graduate School of International Management, Angela's career has been focused entirely on international credit challenges. Angela has garnered almost 20 years of experience in credit management, all with Fortune 500 corporations. Angela has been an active FCIB member since 1997 and was in the very first CICP graduating class. Currently, she is also serving on the Advisory Council to the FCIB Board of Directors. | |
![]() | Jeff Jankowiak is a Partner in the firm of International Risk Consultants, Inc. headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, with offices in Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Indianapolis, San Francisco, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, China, London, Sao Paulo Brazil, and Monterrey Mexico. IRC is also a member of the International Credit Brokers Association, the largest global network of trade credit insurance brokers with 42 offices in 27 countries. Located in San Francisco, Jankowiak leads the firms’ efforts in California and the Western region. Previous to joining the firm he was Vice President of Marketing, Finance and Administration at Cozzini, Inc., Chicago, IL, a capital equipment manufacturer serving the food industry. During his tenure he developed and operated a trade finance and credit group for short and medium term credit exposures. He also led a team, which created structured trade programs with EXIM Bank and ECA’s for Latin America, Eastern Europe, and Russia. Prior to this he was Chief Operating Officer at The National Provisioner, Inc., Chicago. IL an agricultural consulting service for meat, poultry and seafood industries. He is a graduate of Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI, Food and Human Nutrition, economics and finance. Jankowiak is an active member of FCIB and is a member of the FCIB Board of Directors. |
![]() | Chris Kuehl is the Managing Director of Armada Corporate Intelligence and is serving as the Chief Economist for the National Association of Credit Management. In that capacity he prepares and comments on the monthly Credit Managers Index. He is also the author of the Business Intelligence Briefs that FCIB members currently receive. He did his graduate work at the University of Kansas and prior to launching Armada in 2000 he was a professor of international finance and economics for 15 years in the US, Russia, Hungary, Estonia, Singapore and Taiwan. |
Paul Kunzer is the Regional Manager – Central US for Chartis Trade Credit. Paul joined AIG/Chartis in June 2000 as a Trade Credit Underwriter in New York. He moved to the Chicago office in 2001 and is responsible for underwriting in both the Midwest and Southwest US regions. Prior to joining AIG/Chartis, Paul worked as an Underwriter and Credit Analyst for the Export-Import Bank of the United States in Washington, DC. He had previous experience in finance with T. Rowe Price Investment Services and The Monitor Group. Paul has a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from the University of Richmond and a Masters of Business Administration degree from Georgetown University. | |
David Marsh, CBF has been Credit Manager for Novus International, Inc. since the company was formed in 1991. He was a division credit manager at Anheuser-Busch from 1988-1991 and was corporate credit manager at Chromalloy American Corporation from 1971-1986. After graduating from Washington University (in St. Louis) in 1963, he worked in agricultural and international credit at Monsanto Company and then as a division credit manager for Textron in St. Louis. In 1975, he received his MS in Commerce degree with a major in Finance from St. Louis University’s graduate business school. With Novus, he travels frequently throughout Latin America, Europe and the Asia Pacific region. Mr. Marsh currently serves on the Advisory Board of NACM-St. Louis where he was named Credit Executive of the Year in 2002. | |
![]() | Jane Miller presently is a Treasury project manager for Ford Motor Company. Ms. Miller has held many positions with Ford Motor Company's Treasurer's Office in her 25 year career. These positions have provided her with a broad Treasury knowledge base. Her present responsibilities include evaluation of treasury products that provide global operational efficiencies for Ford Motor Company and its global affiliates. Recently, Ms. Miller has played a significant role in implementing SWIFT initiatives within Ford Motor Company. She has extensive knowledge of Ford's Global Treasury operations. She holds a Bachelor's of Business Administration from the University of Michigan and lives with her husband and teenage sons in Ann Arbor. |
![]() | Dorothy Morris Marshall, CCE, CICP is the Director of Credit Services at Wolverine World Wide where she is responsible for the order to cash cycle for domestic and international distributors and factories, including policies and procedures for Credit functions for this $2 Billion company. Prior to joining Wolverine, she held the Assistant Director of Credit position at Knape & Vogt and Accounts Receivable Supervisor positions at Guardsman Chemical and H.H. Cutler Company. Ms. Morris is an Instructor at Davenport Business College for Introduction to Credit Management, a contributor to Business Credit Magazine, Association Management Magazine and various Prentice Hall publications and she was the President and CEO of NACM, Western Michigan between 1990 and 1997. Among the numerous awards received over the years are the Credit Executive of the Year 1989 & 1990 Award and the Outstanding Leadership Award from Credit Association of Footwear Executives 2003 – 2004. |
Mike Mino, CCE is a graduate of Cornell University and in the 1980s he was a banker, collecting, renegotiating and selling the debt of developing countries on the secondary markets. As Americas Credit Manager for a Sumitomo Chemical subsidiary in the 1990s, he established Credit Operations in Mexico. Mike was an expatriate in Europe in the early 2000s for Adobe Systems where he established and staffed their European Trade Credit Department. As Director, Global Trade Credit for Oracle Corporation, Mike is responsible for credit risk management worldwide. He has developed scoring models that will be integrated into Oracle’s Credit Management Module. | |
![]() | Gayle Roenbaugh, CICP, CTP has 21 years of experience in both trade finance sales and trade middle office. She began her trade banking career with First Chicago Bank managing international operations, then a national trade sales group. She joined HSBC in 2007 where she is Vice President and Senior Regional Trade Manager. Gayle holds a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish & Business from the University of Wisconsin, is a Certified Treasury Professional, a Certified International Credit Profession and a licensed Customs Broker. She is a member of FCIB, The International Trade Association of Greater Chicago and the Association Of Financial Professionals. |
![]() | Freddy Van den Spiegel is Chief Economist and Director of Public Affairs at BNP Paribas Fortis. He is also a Professor at the Free University Brussels, where he teaches courses in Financial Management, Financial Markets and Financial Institutions. He is a Visiting Professor at Warsaw University since 1992 and several other European and US Universities. As an economist, he has a specific interest in the effects of European integration and worldwide globalisation on financial markets and risks. |
![]() | Scott Thomas has been a Global Credit Risk Manager since 2004 with INVISTA, a wholly owned by a subsidiary of Koch Industries, Inc. Previous positions have been with predecessor companies beginning with Celanese Corp. in international credit, financial analysis, treasury, as a plant controller, and in international sales and business development. His undergraduate degree is from UC San Diego in political science and he holds a dual Masters degree from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, Glendale, AZ and ESADE in Barcelona Spain. Scott has taught several courses in international business at Central Piedmont Community College, Charlotte, NC and the University of North Carolina, Charlotte. He is a Certified International Credit Professional and a member of the FCIB Advisory Board. |
![]() | Jacques Vincken is the newly appointed Shell Downstream Credit Manager for Europe and Global Lubricants, and until end last year the Global Credit Manager for Shell Chemicals and Shell Gas (LPG). Jacques has worked in the Finance function of Shell for over 25 years in various businesses (Upstream, Chemicals, Downstream) and has extensive experience in Commercial Finance. He has had overseas assignments in various Shell divisions and companies and has travelled all over the world. As Global Credit Manager, Jacques has successfully standardised the Credit processes on a global basis. He managed to dramatically decrease the working capital and has made the organisation a cash conscious environment throughout. Jacques received the CEO Awards in 2007 and 2008 for his success in the Credit and Contract management processes and for 2009 his team is, again, expected to receive the CEO Award for successful Credit Management of the Chemicals High Risk Customer portfolio in the complex current financial crisis. He is a strong believer in professional credit management, supporting businesses in their growth strategies and giving added value. The newly launched Chemicals Credit Strategy is the most recent success, leading the Credit organisation within Shell Chemicals towards the professional arena. In his new job, Jacques will be aiming for the same achievements. Jacques is an active member of various external Credit Associations namely, FCIB (active Board member and Chairman of the European Advisory Council), the Institute of Credit Management, and the European Chemicals Credit Association (Chairman). He is also a frequent speaker on Credit and Risk Management topics at various conferences around the World (Paris, London, Rome, Barcelona, The Netherlands, Chengdu, China, and now Chicago). |
![]() | David Weidinger is the Senior Director of Credit & A/R for The McGraw-Hill Companies, a premier provider of information and products in financial services, education and business information markets through leading brands such as Standard & Poor’s, McGraw-Hill Education and Business Week. David coordinates a team of 120 credit, collections and receivable professionals dealing with McGraw-Hill’s Education and Information & Media divisions. He previously spent 13 years with DuPont, most recently as DuPont’s Global Credit Manager overseeing DuPont’s worldwide receivables portfolio. His background includes years of international business and management expertise in varying financial roles. He has lived abroad for nine years, seven of which involved finance and credit management in Central and Eastern Europe. David holds an undergraduate business degree from Southern Methodist University and an MBA from Thunderbird. David is also the current FCIB Chairman and on the National Association of Credit Management (NACM) board. |
