• • Annual FCIB Membership – 2 points per year
  • Publishing articles on subjects related to international business credit and trade finance – 2 points per article
  • Serving as a speaker, moderator, instructor or panelist of an educational offering in the field of international business credit and trade finance – 2 points per engagement

 
All non-FCIB events are subject to FCIB approval. Only programs focusing on international business, trade finance and global credit management will be considered. You must submit proof of participation (i.e., roster) and a copy of the program or agenda.

CICP Recertification

The Certified International Credit Professional (CICP) designation requires the CICP holder to renew their designation each calendar year in order to remain in good standing. This ensures the integrity and quality of the designation through continuous professional development. It also encourages CICP's to aim higher and aids their career advancement by clearly demonstrating to employers a willingness to embrace further education.

In order to recertify, you will need to fulfill the following requirements:

Earn 3 Professional Development Points annually – View Point Values (PDF) Pay the $50 annual renewal fee

When do I need to renew my CICP designation? Is the annual renewal due during the month that I originally received the designation?

Your deadline date is determined by the anniversary date of your CICP course completion. (January 31, May 31, September 30). You will need to renew each year by your deadline date. Please contact FCIB if you need to clarify your deadline date.

How do I earn Professional Development Points?

You earn points by participating in education programs and events in international business, finance and credit management. FCIB offers events in which you can earn points.

If I earn more than 3 points in one year, can I carry over the extra points into the following year?

No. However, FCIB will always examine any individual circumstances placed before the Education department. My company is an FCIB member; does this entitle me to earn points?

No, points awarded for being an FCIB member go only to the named individual member. The named member receives daily Strategic Briefs, access to the FCIB Members' Forum and other benefits which give them access to continuing professional development.

Is it possible to earn points from non-FCIB events?

Yes. However, the topic must be related to international business credit and trade finance. All non-FCIB programs must be approved by FCIB to be considered. In order to determine the values of the event, you will need to provide verification of participation and a copy of the program or agenda.

The deadline for renewal is coming up and I don't have enough Professional Development Points. Is there a way to earn points?

You can earn points by purchasing and listening to replays of teleconferences (free to members) and webinars which have been held within the past 12 months.

How do I pay the renewal fee?

You have the option to pay by credit card on the Recertification Application. You also have the option of sending in payment by check or wiring the money directly to our FCIB bank account. Please note that all credit card receipts will show the name of our parent company, NACM.

In order for my company to pay for my renewal fee, they require an invoice. How do I obtain one?
