FCIB Teleconference - Global Economic Outlook 2010

Session Information
Speaker: Chris Kuehl
We are all in recovery now - correct? After a truly miserable 2009 almost anything will feel like an improvement but there will be some significant variations in terms of economic recovery. There are regions that have already surged back to life and there are economies that will remain mired in problems for many years. This teleconference looks at four major factors that will affect global economy recovery in 2010. The first is the role of government in repairing the financial system. How much has this effort helped and how much has it hurt? The second factor is the threat of inflation. How much impact will the last two years of a very loose monetary policy have on 2010? The third factor is the potential shift in the value of the dollar, euro and other major currencies. Will the weak dollar continue and what will happen with global trade? Finally there is the status of the banks and credit markets. It has been a while since the crisis months of 2008 but the financial system is still in some distress. How long does this last and what does it look like on ther other side?
