Designed with you, the practitioner in mind, this comprehensive, in-depth course will provide you with the knowledge and hands-on experience to better understand, manage and mitigate the credit risks associated with doing business internationally - in simple terms - the risks of getting paid, and getting paid on time. The course will help you and your company enter new markets and expand your presence abroad - and most importantly - achieve all this while protecting what is probably your company's largest asset - Accounts Receivable.
The course consists of twelve (12) modules and is conducted over a thirteen (13)-week period. Some of the topics covered across the twelve (12) modules include:

This is a cohort model online course - meaning it is instructor led, with a great deal of peer-to-peer interaction. You won't feel isolated. You will work in a collaborative learning environment. Various activities and regular communication with classmates and the instructor via Web Talk are vital elements of this online course. You will take with you knowledge in the field of International Credit Management and a network of fellow credit professionals you can rely on. And FCIB will always be available to assist you.
Upon successful completion of the course, you will have the opportunity to take a certification exam and be awarded the CICP professional designation - Certified International Credit Professional (CICP). The certification exam must be taken within three weeks from the end of the course.
Successful completion of the course means:
- Completion of all course assignments
- Regular participation in course discussions
- Earning 75% or higher on module tests, and
- Completing the online course evaluation at the end of the thirteen (13) weeks.
We realize that you are working professionals with busy travel schedules and circumstances may prevent you from participating in all discussions. We expect you to do your best. Students who fail to participate in at least 80% of the discussions will need a waiver from the instructor in order to sit for the certification exam
As a course participant, you should expect to spend about 5 to 7 hours per week to complete the course module and assignments. Motivation, commitment, good time management skills and self-discipline are required to succeed in an online course.

Who is this online course geared toward and what is required to succeed?
This online, instructor-led international course attracts participants with diverse backgrounds and professional experiences – from people who are just entering the field of international credit and junior credit analysts, to international credit managers, VP’s and Directors of Credit. FCIB’s online course in International Credit & Risk Management has included participants from more than 50 different countries. Motivation, commitment and determination are what it takes to successfully complete this course.
How long should I expect to spend on the class materials? Is participation required?
Students should be prepared to spend an average of 5 to 7 hours per week on the course. Participation in “group share” assignments and discussions is a required aspect of this course, making the course even more valuable by allowing students to learn from each other’s experiences.
Do I have to be logged onto the course at a certain time each day?
No. The course is designed to give you the flexibility and convenience that most credit professionals need – the course is accessible from anywhere at any time. The course covers 12 modules. A new module is assigned every week and the goal is to complete the module - including assignments and short quizzes - during that week. Work on the course material anytime during the week. A knowledgeable instructor is available to provide guidance and answer your questions.
Are there any other textbooks or materials that I would need to purchase?
No. There is no need to buy expensive books. FCIB’s online course supplies all of the necessary material online. After successfully completing the course, each student will receive a CD of the course material for future reference.
Is the CICP certification exam “online”? Is there an extra fee to take the exam?
The CICP certification exam is an “online” exam. Students must pick a 4-hour window during the three weeks following the end of the course in which to take the exam. The CICP exam is comprised of 120 multiple choice and short answer questions. There is no extra cost for taking the certification exam.
