Bios Steve Ambler holds an M.Sc. in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Ph.D. in Economics from Stanford University. He has taught in the Département des sciences économiques at the Université du Québec à Montréal since 1985, and has held visiting positions at the Université de Paris I (Panthéon-Sorbonne), the European University Institute and the Institut für Höhere Studien in Vienna. He is the author of numerous articles in journals such as the Journal of Monetary Economics, the Review of Wanda Borges, Esq. is an attorney at law who concentrates her practice on commercial litigation and creditors’ rights in bankruptcy matters, representing corporate clients throughout the United States for an excess of twenty years. As a member of the Commercial Law League of America, she is a Past Chair of its Bankruptcy Section, is an attorney member of the National Board of Governors and serves on the Executive Council of the Eastern Region of the CLLA. She is a member of INSOL, the American Bar Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Hispanic National Bar Association and the Turnaround Management Association. She regularly lectures for the National Association of Credit Management and its various affiliates on bankruptcy issues, antitrust matters, ECOA, FCRA, the Uniform Commercial Code and creditors’ rights. She has served as the Managing Editor and is one of the contributing authors of NACM’s Manual of Credit and Collection Laws and its Principles of Business Credit. She is a contributing author to NACM’s “Business Credit” magazine and has authored Antitrust, Restraint of Trade and Unfair Competition: Myth Versus Reality. Jose Brito is Director of Credit for Tech Data Canada, a subsidiary of one of the largest distributors of IT products in the world, with 16 years of experience in credit management, six in the United States, four in Latin America, and six in Canada. He holds a Masters of Business Administration from Florida State University, and has been a Certified Credit Executive since 1999. Agostino Cannavino, founding member of NACM-Canada, has over 20 years of experience in credit management in the tobacco, pharmaceutical and electronics industry. Mr. Cannavino has a Masters of Business Administration degree (MBA) and a Graduate degree from Université de Sherbrooke. Mr. Cannavino is currently employed at Imperial Tobacco Canada Limited as Assistant Manager, Credit and Corporate Disbursements. He is also a Commissioner at the English Montreal School Board. Elected in 2003, he served as Chairman of the Finance and Legislation Committee, is a member of the Audit and the Executive Committees for the largest English school board in Quebec. In 2004, Mr. Cannavino was instrumental in the outsourcing of accounts payable at Imperial Tobacco Canada Limited and today is the Contract Executive for this mandate. In 2006, he re-engineered the Credit Department to accommodate a major change in the company’s distribution model; going from a department of 4 to 22 employees and from a customer base of 94 to 28,000 accounts. Mr. Cannavino was named 1997 pharmaceutical credit manager of the year. He has a high level of public speaking and presentation skills. He has participated in several NACM workshops as either a member of a panel or speaker. Jack Fucale, Co-Founder and Director of Operations for BOEN Services, has over 10 years experience in the field of Workflow Development & Management. Mr. Fucale has a degree in Operations Management and specializes in process optimization and business development. Mr. Fucale has helped design and implement workflow and outsourcing strategies in the fields of accounts receivable and accounts payable for medium and large sized firms in the manufacturing, tobacco, and freight industries. Geoffrey Last is National Credit Manager for Anixter Canada Inc. He has been with Anixter for 19 years and with Canada Wire & Cable for 8 years prior. He is a Fellow of the Credit Institute of Canada, a member of the National Forum of Credit & Financial Executives, a Certified Credit Executive (NACM) and has attended NACM's Graduate School of Credit Management. He has chaired the Legislation Committee of the Credit John Molli is Chief Executive Officer of Delaware Bay Risk Solutions (DBRS), a risk advisory company established by Deutsche Bank AG to market Accounts Receivable Put Options. Prior to DBRS, John was Director of International Business at Euler Hermes ACI, the world’s market leader in credit insurance. John’s 22 plus years in trade finance and credit protection include eleven years with NationsBank (Maryland National Bank) where he held various trade and corporate banking positions covering the Pacific Rim, Southern Europe, the Middle East and Latin America. John earned his BA and MBA from The Sellinger School of Business and Management, Loyola College in Maryland. Greg Powelson is President of NACM’s Mechanic’s Lien and Bond Services division (MLBS), headquartered in Columbia, MD. Greg recently came to NACM after 18 years as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for NCS of Cleveland Ohio. An attendee at Greg’s Lien Seminar is presented with the most current information in order to design, plan, and enhance the usage of Mechanic’s Liens and Bond Claims. He teaches strategies that will guard against the construction debtor’s number one objection to payment: “I CAN’T PAY YOU UNTIL I GET PAID.” Greg is a dynamic speaker mixing facts with personal stories to create a powerful message regarding the value of collateralizing receivables. Hubert Sibre, having acquired experience in business restructuring and workouts, draws his expertise in the fields, amongst others, of sureties, litigation and insolvency. Apart from representing financial institutions, suppliers and investors he primarily represents business dealing with high risks situations. Before pursuing his career as partner at BCF, he acted as legal counsel with the National Bank of Canada and GMAC. He’s the author and collaborator to several books and articles on restructuring, insolvency and credit. In addition to being a guest lecturer on restructuring at UQAM’s MBA program, he teaches securities at the École du Barreau in addition to being responsible for the curriculum on insolvency. He is a regular lecturer in Canada and the United States regarding subjects related to insolvency and credit with such organisations as the Canadian Institute, Insight, CAIRP, Profil Credit, FCIB, Equifax and NACM. He is member of a number of organisations such as Insol International, Turnaround Management Association, Canadian Foundation of Insolvency. He is member of a number of charitable organisations such as the board of Collège Laval, the executive committee of the Fondation du Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal and he sits on the Advising Board of NACM-Canada (National Association of Credit Management), one of the most important associations of its kind. He also acts as legal counsel for NACM’s Pharma Group consisting of representatives of all major pharmaceutical corporations in Canada. He is recognized as one of the “40 under 40” of the international elite in insolvency by the Global Restructuring and Insolvency Review and received a Leadership Prize in 2005 by the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, as an acknowledgement for his social involvement. Susan Ward, Sales Manager Commercial Eastern Region, has been with Equifax for over 13 years. She previously held the positions of National Credit Group - Database Coordinator and Product Manager, Commercial Strategic Account Manager, Product Manager, Y2K Project Manager, and Sales Supervisor/Account Executive. Prior to joining Equifax Susan worked, six years, for Xerox. She holds a B.A. in Languages. Jonathan Wigley's practice, at Gardiner Roberts, LLC, focuses on bankruptcy and insolvency, commercial and administrative litigation including creditor/debtor, restructuring, securities litigation and oppression remedies, and on municipal land use matters including municipal litigation. A Partner, Mr. Wigley has acted for many years for banks, financial institutions, trustees and monitors in matters relating to problem loan workouts, restructurings, and creditor and debtor matters. In addition, he has worked on a variety of commercial property development, real estate, and municipal matters for developers, landowners and municipalities and has appeared innumerable times before the Ontario Municipal Board and the courts at all levels. He has also conducted a number of international arbitrations relating to cross border commercial disputes. He holds an LL.M from York University (Bankruptcy and Insolvency), LL.B from Queen’s University (Kingston), and a B.A.Sc Electrical Engineering from Queen’s University (Kingston).
